My Humble Life

I never dream to become a librarian but today I am proud to say I am a librarian forever. Clara M. Patnaan, is my name, a librarian of Baguio City School of Arts and Trades, (BCSAT-TESDA), Upper Session Road, Baguio. I am married to Cresencio G. Patanaan, in 1982, blessed with five children, all boys. Presently, the family is residing at room 203 Sharon Lodge Building of Baguio Church of Christ, 18 Rimando Road, Baguio City. As of today I am enrolled at Saint Louis University (SLU), Baguio City, taking up Masters in Library and Information Technology (MALIT), still in progress. I am a teacher by profession and a librarian at the same time. In 1993 went back to schooI to take up librarinship, at SLU, finished the course in 1996, and luckily passed the board exam for librarians conducted at Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), located at Taft St., Manila on December 2-3, 1999. I graduated as Bachelor of Science In Education, major in Home Ecnomics (HE) in 1977 at the Cayan Colleges Tuguegarao, Tuguegarao City(formerly Cagayan Teachers College). I entered in the teaching profession on June 23, 1977, and first taugth at Saint Theresita's High School, Dagupan, Tabuk, Kalinga- Apayao then, now, Tabuk City, from June 1977 to April 1982. I have varied experiences as classroom teacher during my stay in the school. With a thougth that I can teach both elementary and high school because of my educational background. The head of the school in the person of Sister Aurora Dulay ICM of the school assigned me to teach both in elementary and high school deparments respectively.

As a mother to my five children all boys, I was able to manage to go back to school and update my self, and till today keep on advancing. I have four kids yet when I was done with my first Masters Degree in 1996. I would not say that life was easy especially money, lot of sacrifices spent, but I said to my self life must go on. I owe all these things to my beloved husband who was so supportive and to push me to further my studies. Being a mother, a worker, and a student at the same time , am also church goer with the family. I do hope, with this information of experiences of my life will serve as an inspiration to other people who in one way or the other wants to make sacrifice and advance life.
